미국에서 현대가 GARMIN과 손잡고 nüvi 360 네비게이션을 미주소비자에게 구입할 기회를 제공한다는 기사입니다.
일년전에도 그랬고..아직도 현대가 네비게이션을 옵션사양으로 넣고있지 않아서 정말 현대가 싸구려
차로 남고싶은가..하면서 의아해 하고있던 찰나에 나온기사입니다.
처음엔 반가웠는데..계속 기사를 보니 아쉬움만 많이 듭니다.
nüvi 360 은 휴대용 단말기로 현대차를 구입시 차량에 팩토리 장착되어 나오는게 아니라는점입니다.
소나타나 심지어는 고급세단이라고 하는 아제라에도 네비게이션을 옵션으로 선택할수 없다는점 때문에
저뿐만이 아닌 제 동료들도 소나타나 아제라 구입에 주저하는걸 많이 보아 왔습니다.
(또 그분들 대부분이 결국 일제차를 선택하게 되더라구요..)
그런데 그 옵션으로 현대가 택한것이 한국내의 모젠이나 현대 오토넷 에서 제공하는 순정 네비게이션이 아닌,
외장용 네비게이션을 선택할수있게끔 하는거...
글쎄요..약간은 부정적인생각이 먼저 드는군요...
물론 nüvi 360 은 미국내에서도 인기가 많은 성능좋은 장치의 하나입니다.
(미국내의 소나타 판매가격이 한국과 달라 많은 분들이 노여워하시는 글을 많이 보았지만..그만큼 미국내 현대차의
옵션사양이 한국보단 아주 덜한건 사실입니다..
혼다 시빅같은 소형차에도 네비게이션을 선택할 수있는 시대에 미국내 현대차의 브랜드 이미지가 높아지려면
순정 네비게이션 옵션은 그 사용가치 여부와 사람들의 선택 여하를 떠나서 필수라고 생각합는데...
고수님들 생각은 어떠신지..)
그리고 이건 여담입니다만..
지금 제가 타고있는 99년형 BMW 323를 처분하고 소나타를 구입하려고 생각하고있습니다만..저는 네비게이션이 꼭 있었으면 좋겠거든요..그래서 에프터 마켓을 뒤지고 있습니다만 현대 소나타에 맞는 에프터마켓 In-Dash 내비게이션을 찻을수가 없었습니다..그래서 망설여 지네요..

Known as the Personal Travel Assistant™, Garmin’s nüvi 360 incorporates easy-to-use GPS navigation, Bluetooth wireless technology, an MP3 player, audio book player, language translator and travel guide capability, currency converter, world travel clock, and much more.
Nüvi provides a bright touchscreen display with three-dimensional automatic routing with turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions that speak street names — making it easy to find your way anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. The Hyundai-branded nüvi also features a custom splash screen and database of Hyundai dealerships and service centers across the nation.
Nüvi’s Bluetooth feature, coupled with an integrated microphone and speaker, lets users dial phone numbers through the device’s touchscreen keypad (for supported phones). Users may look up and dial numbers from their personalized phone book or from the phone’s call history log that shows calls received, calls dialed and calls missed. The nüvi can also dial numbers from its points of interest database – locations like hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
The portable unit easily mounts to any Hyundai vehicle, and can be used for pedestrian navigation as well. For added security, nüvi features Garmin Lock™, a theft deterrent that disables the unit until the user types in a specific 4-digit PIN or takes the unit to a predetermined secure location code.
